SMS Thanksgiving Pie Fundraiser

Buy a pie (or two, or three!) and support the Special Music School PTA!

For our first ever Thanksgiving Pie Fundraiser, we're partnering with Meredith's Bread, farmer's market mainstay and purveyor of delicious baked goods, jams and butters. Their handmade pies are made from locally-sourced, NY state ingredients, including fresh fruit and organically-grown and milled flour.

We're offering a selection of traditional and gluten-free pies, plus savory quiches--great for the morning of or day after Thanksgiving. Buy for your family, your friends, your classroom or instrumental teacher, or another member of the SMS community (pies make great gifts!). All proceeds benefit the Special Music School PTA.

  SPECIAL MUSIC SCHOOL FUndraising

Special Music School is a unique public-private partnership between the New York City Department of Education, which supports the academic and intellectual needs of our students, and Kaufman Music Center, which sponsors the music education. Both are essential. There’s no school without the DOE and no music without KMC. As a result, PTA fundraising efforts support BOTH the academic and music sides of the curriculum.

The PTA supports our school's DOE budget by approximately $130,000 per year. The money raised pays for initiatives like professional development, AP course training, technology upgrades, classroom supplies, capital improvements, field trips, graduation events, National Dance Institute (K-5), teacher discretionary funds, community building events, and more.

Your donation to the PTA ANNUAL APPEAL is the main source of this funding! 

We suggest an annual contribution of $400, $800 or $1,200/student. Pay in one lump sum or spread it out over the course of the year. For more info and to make your contribution today, click HERE.
